Operations

Enrique, what is your position in Exide?

Now, I am an operator in the pasting line, in manufacturing. Previously, I have been working in others sections of the plant, such as finishing and formation.

What do you think of this time in Exide?

I have been working in Exide since 2003 and I have always been happy about it. It is very important for me to have time to be with my family, and working in Exide allows me to do it: it brought me balance between work and family.

You have been recently awarded with the “Best Exide Idea” recognition, in the scope of a programme in Azuqueca Plant called “The Factory of Ideas”, promoting employee’s suggestions and initiative. You also received a diploma by the VP Human Resources - Europe. How do you feel about this?

I didn’t really expect to be one of the winners of this programme: it was a surprise for me. I think it is a very good idea to involve the employees in the development of the plant through this kind of programmes. In the end, the operators know the processes and tools better than anyone, so we are the ones who can improve them more efficiently.
It’s motivating to see how my idea is actually being put into practise in the Plant, it makes me feel our ideas are important. I want this programme, “The factory of Ideas”, to continue for a long time.

We know the professional, what about the person? What do you do after work?

I have two little children, nine-year-old Quique and three-year-old Alba, who take all my free time… I love to spend time with my family. Usually, we take our bikes and go for some sightseeing. I also like playing soccer videogames.

What would be your piece of advice for someone interested in joining Exide?

I would say that it’s a big international Company that provides you with stability, and in these days, this is very important. Also, you can reconcile your family life with work, what I consider to be a key factor.

Thanks, Enrique.
