Engineering

Gaëtan, in which area do you work?

I am currently holding the position of Engineering and Maintenance Manager in Lille Plant, in France.

When did you join Exide and how did you career progress?

I joined Exide in 2001 as apprentice in the maintenance service of Lille Plant. Once I got my engineer diploma, Exide proposed me an open ended contract as Maintenance Engineer. After 5 years spent in an engineer position, I have been appointed head of the Engineering and Maintenance department.

What do you like best at Exide?

I am the evidence that you can quickly be entrusted with lots of responsibilities when you work for Exide. Since the beginning, I have noticed that if you give your best and show good skills, Exide can offer you tremendous opportunities. Furthermore, it is critical to state that every day by Exide, is different than yesterday. That means, you will learn new things, you will share new experiences, and it comes out with lots of my expectations.

How do you spend time in your private life?

When I am not at work, I spend my time with my wife and my two little boys. I have also a project to achieve in the next months. I will renovate my house.

What message would you like to give to anyone reading this interview?

I would address two different messages: The first to Exide employees: speak about your Exide experience, in order to convey our values.

The second for people who don’t belong to Exide (maybe for the moment). If you are looking for great challenges, if you like technical products and want to improve your knowledge, don’t hesitate to join us.

Thanks, Gaëtan
